Friday Feature: Spinning on South Street

Revel Ride is now hosting outdoor spin classes every weekend right on South Street.

On Fridays, we’ll highlight some pretty rad things happening throughout the city. Whether it’s a gym hosting a one-of-a-kind fitness event or a chance for you to get your self-care on, our Friday Feature is definitely worth checking out.

Y’all, sometimes something so good happens you think, “Can this be too good to be true?” Friends, it is BETTER.

We’re talking about Revel Ride’s recent announcement that they are BACK! Starting tomorrow, the neighborhood spin studio will host outdoor classes right on South Street every weekend through November 5th. Thanks to a permit Revel received from the city of Philadelphia (and a test run during LDW), you can clip in for a 45-minute spin sesh on the hour between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m on Saturdays and Sundays. As for keeping things safe and socially distant, each outdoor class is capped at 9 riders, with every bike spaced six feet apart. You’ll need to wear your mask up until you sit in the saddle, then you have the choice to keep it on or take it off for the duration of class.

If you’re cool spinning inside, Revel is opening their physical studio doors starting Monday evening. Right now, the weekday indoor classes are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and noon on Friday. (Owner Jamie Promislo says Revel will add more classes if need be, but the focus is on spaced-out, small group instruction for now.) There are 10 bookable bikes, and masks must be worn at all times while in the studio, including classtime.

If you’re ready to kick it IRL with the Revel team, you can book a bike (all the way through September 21st!) for $25 here. FYI: At this time, no pre-lockdown credits can be used. See you soon for spin, and, of course, Promislo’s sing-alongs during class!
